It's a little subdued at HG HQ today as many are suffering the after effects of a night of celebrations at the HG Christmas party.  The drinks were flowing, the music pumping and the dance floor was alive with editors, marketeers and sales reps alike all celebrating another fantastic year of books!

Today we all sit at our desks questioning if that last glass of wine was necessary, (um, yes I believe it was) and arguing over who has the best hangover cure.  From Frosty Fruits (me), to a can of coke (Eleanor), from coffee (Olivia) to a burger & chips (Andy) but we think that the lovely ladies, Karin Berndl & Nici Hofer, behind All Natural Beauty have the best hangover fighting advise...

So, you have a hangover and it’s not pretty. We recommend after the first obvious healing steps of tea and bacon sarnie, ideally delivered to your bed, and the soothing chanting of ‘I will never drink again’, it’s time for step two: hop in the shower to wash away the hangover. Step three is to treat yourself to this body oil that will leave you feeling pampered, refreshed and maybe even so uplifted that you will be brave enough to face your phone to see whom you drunk-texted.

Eucalyptus essential oil is invigorating and generally purifies the body. Peppermint essential oil supports digestion, improves focus, boosts energy, reduces fever, clears headaches and is used for muscle pain relief. Lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antibacterial and antiviral properties and is soothing for the skin. Tea tree essential oil reduces bad odours and can help stimulate the immune system. Geranium essential oil helps skin stay healthy and is known to revitalise body tissues. It heals inflamed skin and other minor skin damage. Rich in antioxidants and vitamin E, jojoba oil is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and has a disinfecting effect. Almond oil contains fatty acids, minerals and vitamins. It calms irritation, is anti-inflammatory, deeply moisturising and soothing – and soothing is what you need, when battling a hangover.
